Garet Garrett is one popular fella today.
First, Justin Raimondo’s piece “Is War Good for the Economy?” is featured on LewRockwell.com. In making the case that “No, war is not good for the economy” Raimondo makes reference to Garrett’s “Bottomless Purse” from his “The Rise of Empire” essay, part of the trilogy of essays in The People’s Pottage (or here in pdf).
And while Raimondo makes a solid case, there are those among us who think otherwise:
Then, in his biweekly column today, Pat Buchanan goes to Garrett too. Referencing “The Revolution Was”, the first essay in Garrett’s trilogy, Buchanan reminds us that the Revolution has already occurred and that the socialism of Obama is an even worse variety than that of Roosevelt.
Be sure to see the Garrett collection at the Mises Institute.
